Instructional Strategies

Description: This project was to select an instructional strategy that you can implement in the classroom. I selected the "rubric". The video explains how to use a rubric and shows data I collected after two units using a rubric.

Rationale:  Rubrics are important in the art classroom as art skills can be subjective. Using a rubric tells students exactly what they need to succeed in the final project. Not only does it tell students what they need, it justifies a grade score. Data collected from rubrics can also give insight into what you taught well and what needed more help. Rubrics can be implemented and adjusted as a fair way to evaluate diverse learners. Rubrics can collect data and monitor student performance.

Accessible Tools Research

Description: This document is a list of accessible tools. There are resources for audiobooks, graphic organizers, text-to-speech, multimedia and digital storytelling tools, study skills, literacy tools, and writing tools. The research consists of how much it costs, how to use it in an art classroom, and the pros and cons.

Rationale:  Relating these tools to the art classroom demonstrates competency in the integration of contemporary digital tools. These tools are accessible to all students and allow diverse learners to participate and learn in the art classroom. These can be easily implemented for differentiated instruction.
